Popular Victorian Driver Tim Van Ginneken won the WA Sprintcar Championship last Saturday night (10th Dec) at Perth’s Motorplex making it back-to-back title victories for the spirited Eastcoaster.
Van Ginneken drove the SJ Crushing backed V86 J&J to a hard fought victory over Jason Kendrick and Brad Maiolo. During the race, Van Ginneken was put back two positions by officials for a an infield pass manoeuvre on Jason Kendrick.
Determined to retain his title, Van Ginneken fought back hard and was first to cross the flagstand by a clear margin.
The night also doubled as “Salute to The General” – in memory of the great John Day and his massive contribution to Speedway. The 360 feature saw young charger Kaiden Manders take a very popular victory.
