Well the East Coast of Australia has finally awoken from its Winter Sprint Car hibernation with Sydney Speedway hosting the first round of the 2014 Summer Sprint Car Series.

It’s been a long off-season with Torque Tube taking a bit of a break, but back again with a fresh approach for 2014. Much of the off season feedback we have received was very complimentary.

Interestingly, viewers are now dialled in on the great bunch of photographers that support Torque Tube and look forward to seeing those great weekly images. So much so, that many viewers indicated a brief overview of the meeting with detailed pictures is what they would prefer. So having said that, let’s get on with it – Images will be the focus in 2014.

Jamie Veal took out the Brian Healey Cup last Saturday night (4th Oct) at Sydney’s Valvoline Raceway ahead of local brothers Roddy and Toby Bellbowen.

The race was marred by a massive crash just seconds into the 30 lap final when Robbie Farr spun in front of the field. Farr was sent to the rear and fought back to finish ninth.

Earlier in the evening Max Johnson set quick time with a 12.314 sec lap just a whisker ahead of Robbie Farr (12.353) and Toby Bell Bowen (12.367).

The B-Main was won by Daryl Campbell form Dubbo’s Jeremey Cross and Matt Dumesny.
