Shane Stewart streaked to victory at Perth Motorplex last Saturday in the Monte Motorsport #17 J&J, taking out “The General 25” feature race for 410 Sprintcars from South Australia’s Luke Dillon in the #26 Diamond Bay Motorsport Maxim and Cameron Gessner in the #41 Cowara Contractors entry.
The General 25 was a race invented this year to celebrate the iconic General John Day – the Pace Ute Marshall that has been involved in starting duties and supplying his spectacular fleet of orange push utes for 50 years in WA Speedway.
Stewart started on the front row along with Jason Kendrick. Kendrick was not able to last the distance with rear suspension failure bringing his great run to an end.
Allan Nash took a massive tumble after 11 laps and thankfully was able to walk away from his wreck.
With only 3 laps to go Allan Nash’s brother Lee also succumbed to a wild roll over.
Fourth across the line was Callum Williamson who drove a brilliant race to cross the line just ahead of Randy Hannagan.
