11:57pm AEDT – News straight to hand is that Robbie Farr driving the East Coast Pipelines Q7 Maxim has taken a spectacular victory in the 30 Lap Kings Challenge at Mount Gambier’s Borderline Speedway from a very fast “Hi-Line” finishing James McFadden. Third home was David Murcott in an absolute thriller.
The race between Farr in the Q7 Orrcon Steel entry and McFadden’s A1 Totally Work Wear car in the last 5 laps was nothing short of sensational. McFadden was snapping at Farr’s heels as Farr went low to protect the groove, sensing McFadden was on a roll. That was a conservative tactic that paid off for the East Coast Pipelines Driver. The track was fast and racy and Farr had taken a calculated risk and run the softest rear tyre of the front runners – again this tactic was to pay off as he took victory from McFadden by a whisker.
It was a race that had everything – speed, changing track surface, dueling, slide jobs and flared tempers – “Bring on The Classic” at Warrnambool tomorrow (26th Jan) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
