SAWA AWARDS & PRESENTATION DINNER – SEASON 2011/12

The SAWA Awards Dinner was held Saturday 19th May at the Tawarri Reception Centre, Nedlands WA.

A great night was had by all. Thanks to everybody who attended and also thanks to the Trophy Sponsors and the 360 Power Series Sponsors. Terry Dorrington (Speedway Chaplain) gave Grace and a Prayer in his usual witty way.

Karl Langdon was our Master of Ceremonies to a great crowd of over 100 sprintcar teams and supporters. Karl as usual was very professional and made the evening entertaining for all.

Framed photos, donated by our Photographer Mel Parker of 11’12 King of Crashes, Top 5 Open Division Winners & Top 5 360 Division Winners and 360 Power Series Winners were auctioned and a total of $1185 was received, this amount together with a Donation from the SAWA is to be donated to Kids charities – this year being Camp Quality (kids with cancer) and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Jason Kendrick (410's) took out the "Achievement Award" as well as a host of others like "Most Feature Race Wins" and recognition for the WA 410 Title - Pic Peter Roebuck

Shaun Bradford took out the fastest Lap at the Motorplex - a blistering 12.615 sec ! - Pic Paul Griffin

David Priolo had a "Rip Snorter" of a season making the best names in the Country follow his tail tank on numerous occasions - David picked up The "Driver with the most Potential" award - Pic Sandra Watson

Terent Pigdon has rocketed into the Sprintcar scene in WA and bagged "Rookie of the Year" - Pic Sandra Watson

"Mr Speedway" Steve Adley accepts his SAWA Club Person Award for outstanding participation in the sport - Pic Mel Parker

The Flex Motorsport Team collected Best Presented Cars - they also secured the same award at the Grand Annual Classic this year as well - Deservedly so ! - Pic Paul Griffin
