JASON JOHNSON WINS USA vs AUSTRALIA SPRINTCAR CHALLENGE AT SPEEDWAY CITY – 25th Jan

Quickie Post – Wednesday 25th Jan

Tonight saw the running of the USA vs Australia Sprintcar Challenge at Speedway City Adelaide. The event was a mid week prelude to The Australian Sprintcar Championship to be staged this Friday and Saturday night.

America’s Jason Johnson took victory and $5000 in the Haynes Labour Hire Q47. Second place was taken by WA’s Ryan Farrell who had a difficult run through lapped traffic. The final podium position went to Brooke Tatnell in A1.

Earlier in the evening Ryan Farrell set quick time in the Colin Bulmer Bayaire  Industries V2. Daniel Pestka and David Murcott were 2nd and 3rd quickest in Qualifying.

The program for the shakedown event was only one heat per car and included a six car inversion based on time trials that were logged during Hot Laps.

Interestingly David Murcott seat hopped into Daryl Downing’s SA97 car for this prelude race – the SA97 is also the planned Murcott mount for the Australian Title weekend as well. This freeded up the #83 Mainline Dynalog Dynamometers entry and Jamie Veal took over the reigns. Veal was 4th quickest time trial and came 9th in the A-Main after transferring through the B-Main.
